En esta clase se presentarán ejercicios básicos de gimnasia para fortalecer las habilidades que se realizan en el suelo, la viga, el salto y las barras. Cada alumno recibirá una instrucción detallada para ayudarlo a alcanzar sus objetivos a su propio ritmo.

Experiencia de clase

All students will learn how to build a workout circuit for learning floor, beam, vault, and bars. Each week they will perform one circuit of training for each Gymnastics event. Learners will see videos and pictures to help them understand drills and skills. Coach Kristalyn will workout along with them to give them live examples of drills and skills. 
Drills and Skills Outline:
Floor skills: handstand, cartwheel, backbend, forward roll, round off basics 
Beam Skills: split jump, split leap, half turn, balancing challenges, and some floor skills will be taught on a line
Vault Skills: running and punch the spring board drills, arm circles, foot speed 
Bar Skills: chin up hold, front support, squat/pike on drills

Each class will end with a fun conditioning challenge or workout including music and games.

This class does have a risk of injury if skills are not performed properly. Please be sure that students are working in a safe environment where hazardous furniture with sharp edges or tripping hazards are moved away from the space the gymnast will perform. Parental supervision may need to be modified due to your students strength or experience level doing certain skills.

Hello Parents!
My name is Kristalyn Aubry and I will be teaching a range of gymnastics classes. Classes will include drills, skills, strength training, and techniques and how they translate to life lessons such as perseverance, self-motivation, and teamwork. I was a gymnast for 10 years and a coach for 8 years. I attended Alabama School of Fine Arts with the focus of Visual Arts and Performing Arts. 
My philosophy is to spread my love of art making and movement through gymnastics. I want to connect with learners through activities that encourage life skills such as patience and endurance. My goal is to motivate learners who are trying to find their voice through different mediums of art and physical activities. The experiences they take from my class I hope students can store in the tool box they take along with them in their journey through life. I apply my values in the classroom by remembering that each learner is different and their learning style is unique which is why my classes are mixed with videos, discussions, and activities that encourage student feedback to ensure their understanding on subjects. I look forward to working with your child!
