In this Valentine’s Day holiday special online class we will draw or paint three art pieces or cards inspired by various art styles (minimalism, cubism, Impressionism, etc). Students can choose if they want to create art works or cards. For art works they can choose to paint on paper or canvases/canvas panels or draw on paper; 3-4 canvases or pieces of paper are needed, plus painting or drawing materials. For cards, please prepare 3-4 folded pieces of paper plus drawing/painting materials. Students will be able to see me drawing, to listen to my instructions and draw their artworks along the way. They can choose different colors, change style, details and use their imagination to create a unique artwork. Questions are very welcomed as well as showings of their work in progress. No previous experience with watercolor pencils in required. Students will need: - watercolor pencils, or watercolors, or paint, or colored pencils, or crayons, or markers - watercolor or mix media paper (for pencils or paint) or canvases (for paint) - graphite pencil, - eraser, - pencil sharpener (optional), - cup/can with water, - a couple of brushes (round preferable), - paper towel or napkin - scrap paper

Hello and welcome! My name is Anna Starkova, I'm an artist, a mother of two (9 and 5 years old) and a wife.
Art has always been my biggest passion since childhood. I love working in various techniques like oil and acrylic painting, watercolors, and graphite drawing. Recently, I have started exploring the full potential watercolor pencils as well. Here at Outschool, I'm offering various one-time classes and 4-week courses (several one-time classes grouped together) in watercolor pencil art technique, graphite drawing and acrylic painting.
I have my own art studio in Needham, MA (Greater Boston Area) where I offer group and individual art lessons for children (age 4+) and adults. I enjoy working with my students and creating new artworks, exploring new themes with them and mastering different techniques. I show and teach all that I have learned during my own art process.
I feel honored to receive several awards and to be selected to participate in many juried art exhibitions throughout New England as well as in New York City. I am also honored to have my paintings in private collections all around the world: USA, Russia, UK, Belgium, Sweden, Australia, UAE, India, and Japan.
