In this 10 week course, student will learn how to draw basic body anatomy and proportions, from a professional artist. This class will be aimed more towards how to draw bodies in space and show proper movements. Learning to draw human anatomy is helpful for students who are wanting to learn more about the artistic side of anatomy, and for students wanting to work on separate projects (i.e. anime/ animation). The class will begin with catching up and seeing how the students are doing for the week and if they have any questions or specific ideas they want to work on for the course. After discussing what we will be working on for the day, the teacher will instruct the students in a step-by-step drawing the body/movement for the class. During this time we will discuss the anatomy and muscles used in the movement and things to keep in mind when drawing. Throughout the class the instructor will ask to see the students drawing to offer tips and help if there is need for it. Students are not expected to take notes, but they are more than welcome to do so. Below is a list of basic class topics that we will be working on each week: Week 1: Basic Proportions and Body Types (Male vs Female) Week 2: Gesture Drawing Week 3: Stretching Week 4: Walking vs Running Week 5: Sitting and Lounging Week 6: Throwing Week 7: Fighting Stances and Actions Week 8: Dancing Week 9: Foreshortening Crash Course Week 10: Figure Drawing Materials needed for the class: Paper or Sketchbook Pencils Erasers

Licenciatura en Música o Teatro o Artes desde University of Wyoming
Hello,
My name is Ms. Elizabeth Suriani, and I am a full-time artist from Northern Colorado. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History in 2016. While at the University of Wyoming I primarily studied 2D art style, including oil painting and print making. I also studied in Florence, Italy during the fall of 2015 where I studied architectural and figurative drawing, as well as fresco restoration.
Since 2015 I have been teaching art and art history to students ranging from ages 5-17 years old with lessons ranging from basic instructions, all the way to advanced classes and color theory for older students. I love teaching art and am currently teaching two international students in Italy and Thailand.
I have recently returned home from teaching English as a second language in Bangkok, Thailand with students aging from 2-16 years old. I loved working with my students and miss them dearly.
On top of being a full-time artist, I have also started my own jewelry business, as well as teaching English Language to children in China!
When teaching, I love to keep things fun and light. I believe that seriousness doesn’t do a young mind any good when learning art at an early age, it tends to discourage them instead. I want to help my students find art or anything they are passionate about and feel like they have a space to ask questions, experiment, and flourish.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
