This class is for shark lovers! Students will learn facts about sharks AND how to identify and draw different species! **PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACEDclass and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via powerpoint and pre-recorded demonstration drawings. Students will engage in questions, class discussions on the classroom tab, assignments and be part of an artist critique, which will be guided by the instructor. Why Self-Paced? *MY Self-Paced classes ALWAYS cost less than the live versions of the same class! *Self-Paced classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. *Content is exactly the same as live classes, at a lower fee. *Students can work at an independent pace. *Self-Paced classes are fantastic for international students whose time zone doesn't match the teacher's (US Mountain Time), *Self-Paced classes are a great alternative for students who are uncomfortable with live video chat. Our Self-Paced format will be as follows: Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Videos will vary in length depending on the type of art being presented. Some may be as short as 10 or 15 minutes while others could be ½ hour or more. Student work is expected to take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, depending upon the student’s preferred pace. Drawing Assignments: Students spend time completing their artwork and submit it prior to the next weekly posted assignment. Submit Assignment: Students are required to post photos of their completed artwork in the classroom on the designated post. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a flex class. Detailed information about what is covered in each session can be found in the syllabus. Once all assignments have been submitted, parents may request a letter or number grade if needed. Students may also receive a "Sharktificate" of completion after parent has completed a class evaluation.

I love to draw animals, and I have developed ways to break down the steps to teach kids how to draw animals. I also happen to be married to a "Sharkcyclopedia!" My husband never misses Shark Week, and is incredibly knowledgeable about these amazing predators. Scientific Illustration is the perfect bridge between art and science!
