🎮 Class Description:

There’s already over 1000 Pokémon, why not add our own to the list?

This is a weekly art class where we’ll create our own Pokémon (Fakémon, if you will). We’ll start each class by discussing and choosing which type we would like to focus on (water, fire, three legs, purple people eater, and so on). The rest of the class will be spent drawing and bouncing ideas off each other.

Students can come up with their own evolutionary lines of Pokémon, unique characteristics based on real creatures and objects, and even imagine a signature move or ability. The teachers can help students transform these ideas into for their original Pokémon. At the end of each class, we’ll share what we’ve each done!

This class is primarily student led for each week. Students of all artistic skill levels are welcome to join this class.

📝 Course Requirements:
-- A love for Pokémon
-- Something to draw on/with (paper and pencil, drawing tablet, mouse, etc.)
-- A strong Internet connection

⚠️ Parental Guidance:
This is strictly an art class. We will not be playing any of the Pokémon games in this class. The teacher might pull up a reference photo of different Pokémon to help give students ideas.

No third-party resources will be used.
Learning Goals
Our goal in all of our classes is to give students, especially neurodiverse students, a safe place to express themselves. We also hope that they will make great friends who share their interests and passions, including video games, art, and literature!
