I love to draw, I don't know what to draw!! Sound familiar? In this weekly drawing class, we come together to be inspired and sharpen our skills. Each session introduces fresh subjects and new ideas for students to choose from. We have a fun voting process where students will choose what we draw. As we progress through the drawings each week, we will learn and practice: ✏️ Sketching using basic shapes ✏️ Achieving good proportions ✏️ Seeing different values in your reference ✏️ Shading to create depth ✏️ Different shading techniques ✏️ Texture (hair, feathers, rough skin of fruit, woodgrain) We will draw using reference photos in this intermediate/advanced drawing class. While I will not be teaching beginner drawing skills, I will do the drawing step by step using a camera to demonstrate. Any skill level is welcome, but this class will be most comfortable for a student that has done some drawing on their own or taken a few classes. If you are interested in a Beginners Learn To Draw Class, you want to check out my Learn to Draw Class. https://outschool.com/classes/learn-to-draw-summer-drawing-course-XDjnycZ2 Some of the subjects we will vote on: ✏️ Animals ✏️ Marine Life ✏️ Birds ✏️ Flowers and leaves ✏️ Everyday objects ( Vase, Shoes, Camera, potted cactus, stacked books) ✏️ Landscapes ✏️ Trees ✏️ Food ✏️ Still Life

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a full time artist completely in love with creating art , I paint daily and sell my paintings locally and online.
I have enjoyed drawing since I was a child and have always had a sketchbook nearby but never took an art class until my late 20's. One oil painting class and I was off, learning everything I could, using as many art materials as I could get my hands on.
A fearless desire to try new art techniques and mediums has driven me to learn art on my own, no formal training , although I have learned a lot from some talented online art teachers.
It is exciting, inspiring, empowering to learn that you can create something beautiful with just your hands, your mind and a few simple tools.
I would become stagnant if I did not have an outflow for this creativity, so I teach!! I love sharing what I have learned with others. I am willing to teach whatever I am learning and creating so expect a variety of classes.
I taught art in a private school to grades K-12 for 2 years. I have also taught art and sewing lessons in my home. I was a homeschool mom for several years and taught art at our homeschool co-op to ages 6-13.
I think that online learning is a huge asset to the the young artist. Being that I have learned a lot online myself I know from a students perspective.
With close up cameras, a smart pen, sharing abilities in Zoom, printables and whatever else it takes , I am able to really focus the student on what they see, learning to see details and put them down on canvas or paper.
I believe every artist is at a different place in his or her learning process and needs to work right there in that place. No comparisons to others or mine. Mistakes are welcomed and hopefully turned into a new and unexpected beauty in the art.
My hope is that my students enjoy the process of learning and creating art as much as I do and that I can help make that happen.
