Experiencia de clase

In this class students will be taught to observe and draw a flower with a loose but accurate technique.
PRE-WORK: Draw a flower from your imagination. Don’t try too hard, just draw what you think a flower looks like. Put it away and bring it to class. We will compare them to the sketch you do from life at the end of the class.
——
1-Warm-up exercise: I will demonstrate how to make textures, lines, washes and shade with the pen and brush. The students will have time to experiment with this technique.
2- Observe & Draw - Pen: I will talk through and demonstrate how to observe and analyze the shapes and angles of the flower while drawing it in a loose but accurate way. Students can draw along or watch and then work on their own sketch. Questions and participation is encouraged. Time will be given to the students to draw.
3- Apply Value - Water and Brush: I’ll demonstrate how to apply values with water and brush. For the darker values, watercolor will be added. Students will have time to work.
My teaching style encourages note taking, questions with quiet time to concentrate on the project. This class is for children with a desire to learn to draw and are comfortable with taking direction.
Painting Flowers Part 2 is now available. See the class schedule.

My studio is snuggled in the woods. Sometimes, I feel the fairies watching me as I work. I haven’t been able to speak to one yet, but I’ve spied on them. I like to sketch them so that I remember them when they return. Maybe someday they will talk to me!
