🌟Get $10 off with coupon code COURSESDEAL10🌟 Join us for a weekly adventure into the world of dragons, myths, legends, and fantastical creatures! Each week, we’ll dive into different mythologies, explore unusual creatures, cryptids, and beasts of lore, and then get creative by sculpting our own interpretations of the theme. Plus, there’s plenty of time for sharing ideas and socializing with fellow myth enthusiasts! In each class, we will discuss a different fantasy creature. Then we will create art based on our theme. Social discussion is part of the design process. What aspects of our theme can we incorporate into our art piece? What position works best for sculpting? Can we add additional items to expand on our design? This is not truly a step by step class, although students are more than welcome to follow along while I sculpt! Learners will pull elements of the theme to add to their own creations. Students may choose to sketch, instead of sculpt, for any themes they choose to. I support all creative outlets. At the end, we will have the opportunity to play an interactive game of Gartic Phone, Time To Climb, Blookit, or Zoom Draw, as well as share artwork/hobbies with the class. Mythological Creatures from Greek, Mesopotamian, Chinese, Philippine and Norse Mythologies, plus many others. Week of 12/22/24: Bake-kujira (Japanese mythology) Week of 12/29/24: Indrik (Russian Folklore) Week of 1/5/24: Dragon Egg/Hatchling …more to come Suggested Supplies: Your choice of sculpting material (I will be using Polymer Bake Clay, Sculpey III brand) in a variety of colors - check the week’s theme Basic sculpting tools, rolling pin Optional Fun Supply Extras: Polymer clay in “Translucent” makes great wings and marbled effects!
