Step into a world of magic and mystery with one of the greatest fantasy role-playing campaigns ever created! Prepare to fulfill ancient prophecies, uncover epic treasures, and face some of the most sinister foes ever devised for an RPG.

Erik Granström, the acclaimed author behind the Forbidden Lands setting, is renowned for his ability to take classic fantasy elements and twist them into something new and exciting. If you're looking for an adventure that will surprise you at every turn and deliver the unexpected, this is the journey for you!

In this second part of a four-part epic campaign, the adventurers are summoned to Mount Ranz. The monks residing there believe that the adventurers have a crucial role to play in a prophecy that could change the course of history.

As your guide, I am thrilled to bring this incredible adventure to Outschool. I experienced this campaign in my youth, and it is an honor to introduce new generations to Erik Granström's amazing tale. Join us for an unforgettable journey into the heart of fantasy, where your choices will shape the destiny of the world!

Week of February 5th
Session 0: We introduce the world, make characters, explaining the basics of the rules.

Week of February 12th
We start the adventure. The adventurers journey to the mountain and get a quest from the monks.

Week of February 17th
The adventurers have their quest, now they have to decide how to accomplish their task. Which adventure site should they travel to first? They begin their journey.

Week of February 24th
The learners explore a first adventure site.

After that, the learners will guide the pace and direction of the campaign, choosing which adventure sites to pursue, and in what order!

This is excellent for an Ongoing class. One reason is that the game, unlike DnD, is a so-called Sandbox game. I.e. the players are in charge of what happens from session to session. The Game Master does not, in this game, decide which plot the characters have to follow, or in which order certain things have to happen. The world is open for the players to explore, with a number of adventure sites that the players can explore in whatever order they choose. Thus, players during session 5 are not tied down by the decisions made by the players of session 4, but are free to explore some completely different part of the world, and make other decisions for the home base. Moreover, the Imperial Outpost functions as a base for the adventurers, making it is easy to come and go. If a player attends the first session, and then misses the second session, their character is simply assumed to do things in the outpost, etc.

I teach social studies and role-playing games. I have 35 years of experience as a Game-master of table-top roleplaying games and Live-Action Roleplay organizer and facilitator for people of ages 7+. I used that experience in my teaching, pioneering the use of games and simulations to help my students understand government, economics and social and cultural processes.

My key principle for teaching is that students learn by doing and experiencing the subject matter. Students in my classes can thus expect a lot of playing games, regardless of content, because it is fun but also because we learn better together that way.

When I'm not teaching I...play more games because...let's face it, I'm a big geek.
