For two years Anne hid in an annex with 7 other people during World War 2. She wrote her thoughts on paper and in notebooks during that time. This book has been reprinted in over 70 languages and serves as a testament to Anne Frank's life and times.

Students will be responsible for completing the reading ahead of time. During class, we will discuss the significance of the readings.
The questions asked will include questions on vocabulary, comprehension, and history. We will go on a virtual tour of the secret annex as we discuss the time Anne spent there.

Each lesson will include time for introductions, greetings, and a synopsis of the previous week's readings. We will also watch Anne Frank's video diary to compare and contrast.

Page numbers will vary from book to book as many editions are available, please read based on the diary entry dates listed below:

Orientación para padres
This book discusses the reality of living in Europe during WWII. Anne and her family can hear air raids and shooting. They hear news of acquaintances being taken away to concentration camps. In some versions of the diary, Anne discusses her developing body and desires towards a female friend. Older versions of the book, printed before 1989 may not include these portions. If you would like to verify your copy, you can check on January 6 1944 and March 24 1944.
