The most used punctuation mark in writing is the comma. Unfortunately, commas are also the most misused punctuation mark in the English language. This class will give your learner confidence in the basic rules of where the comma should be placed. A summary sheet will be provided and posted in the classroom so your student will have all the rules we discussed. At the end of the class, a short passage will be punctuated to practice our knowledge. I teach in a relaxed manner. Prior knowledge that your student will need: Your learner should be able to have a basic grasp of reading and be proficient in writing a sentence. This is not a "fun" class. I try to make all of my classes enjoyable, but this is a skill based class to truly learn how to use the comma in everyday writing. The semi colon will be briefly mentioned as well. Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over anyone, we are kind and respectful to everyone, we raise our hand if we have a question or a comment, and per the Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on at the beginning of class so I may verify the learner.
