Grado de EE. UU. Kindergarten - 3
In this course, we will have a blast learning about the matter around us.

Week 1: What is matter?
Exploring the State of Matter
We will investigate solids, liquids, and gases and learn about condensing, melting, and freezing.
In this lesson, we will look at water and what happens when it freezes, melts, evaporates, and condenses. We will draw a diagram of this process.

Week 2: What is a mixture?
Exploring Physical Changes
We will investigate physical changes, mixtures, and solutions. This lesson will discuss separating different mixtures, such as a group of coins or a salad, and making a tasty solution (lemonade).

Week 3: What are pure substances?
Exploring Pure Substances
We will investigate pure substances. This lesson will look at the physical differences between salt and sugar. We will list the differences between the two substances and describe how we know one is different. We will briefly take a look at the periodic table of elements.

Week 4: How can we make different substances?
Exploring Chemical Changes
We will investigate the differences between elements, molecules, and compounds using marshmallow models. We will also observe a chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda.

Due to the age of the students, please have an adult in the room or nearby if they need help during class. Thank you!
