In this super fun flexible schedule class, we will learn basic division. Students will learn a hands on approach to solving basic division problems using the equal groups strategy.  

Week 1 - Divided by 1 and 2
Week 2 - Divided by 3 and 4
Week 3 - Divided by 5 and 6
Week 4 - Divided by 7 and 8
Week 5 - Divided by 9 and 10
Week 6 - Divided by 11 and 12

Weekly Lessons: 

Each week I will provide two Nearpod videos one for each of the division tables that will contain a demonstration for solving a selection of the problems in that division table.  

Interaction in this Flex Class:

Each week students will receive links to virtual division games that they can play.

Each week students will be prompted to share pictures to the classroom of any problems that they have solved using manipulatives. The teacher and other students will comment on the pictures of problems solved with manipulatives and provide feedback. 

Students will participate in weekly creative division challenge. Learners will try to find the most creative item that they can solve a problem with and if there are 3 or more learners they will vote in a poll on which was most creative. 

Learners will create an art project or drawing to demonstrate a division problem and if there are 3 or more learners they will vote in a poll on which they feel was the most creative.  All competitions will be friendly.  

Supplies:

Students can use manipulative from around the house.  The teacher uses a variety of manipulatives in class and they are welcome to use candy, beans, rice, pennies, or any similar small object.  

This is a Flex class; therefore, there will be no live meetings. Lessons will be provided via video recording.
