In this 5-Day Course, students will create art using their preferred digital art software (Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, Krita, MediBang Paint Pro, Autodesk Sketchbook, and more). This course is designed to provide students with the skills they need to learn/improve how they approach digitally painting (rendering). Students will cover an assortment of topics throughout the five day course such as sketching, line work, shape language, texture, color theory, shadows, and lighting. Students require access to a drawing tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this course. Students are also responsible for understanding the basics of operating their software. I have provided a list of both free and paid for art applications and software in the Materials section of the course. The following indicates the outline for this 5-Day Course: Day 1: Students will learn how to render a pear today. Students will learn the process of digital painting in today's course. The biggest take away will involve learning about the application of lights and shadows to the artwork. If time permits, students can attempt to digitally paint a different fruit. Day 2: Students will learn how to render stone and rock today. We will use texture spheres to help guide our learning and understanding and then we will create our own stone and rock formations. Day 3: Students will learn how to render wood today. We will use texture spheres to help guide our learning and understanding and then we will create our own wood inspired art pieces. Day 4: Students will learn how to render moss today. We will use texture spheres to help guide our learning and understanding and then we will create two additional pieces. The first will be digitally painting trees utilizing our wood texture skills and moss skills. The second will be digitally painting rocks cpvered in moss utilizing our stone texture skills and moss skills. Day 5: Students will learn how to render water and fire today. We will use texture spheres to help guide our learning and understanding and then we will create our own water and fire inspired art pieces. I look forward to seeing what we create together!

Students require access to a digital tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this course. The software is only intended for art purposes. There should be no risk of harm to your computer from downloading or advertisements being displayed while using the software. Students under the age of 13 may require a parent account.
Students will also be able to use a preferred search engine, such as Google, for the purpose of gathering reference images. The reference images are to help students become inspired to create art that meets our weekly topic. It is highly suggested that the safe search is turned on your child's computer/device they will be using to access reference images.
The instructor will also have a reference image available that he will be using during the class. The image will be made available via screen share and the Classroom for students to access if they wish to use the image.

Welcome! My name is Rocco Sepulveda.
I have been a certified teacher for over 10 years. I have also been a Digital Artist for over 10 years as well!
My classroom is a space where learners can shine creatively, make strides towards their artistic goals, and share their passions with each other. It is a safe space where students can openly be themselves. In my courses students will learn to become better artists as they practice different drawing techniques. These techniques include learning to sketch, learning to break a figure down into simple shapes, learning a layered approach to drawing, learning different styles of applying linework, and learning different methods for rendering artwork.
