Experiencia de clase

Hello parents and students!
This class is meant to help students learn the game Dungeons and Dragons by playing the game, asking questions, and receiving assistance from myself the teacher or their classmates as well. Like a lot of my previous classes, students will be managing their characters in a fictional story in order to achieve a certain goal. For this particular story, their characters at level 19 will need to deal with two Greek mythological gods who are wreaking havoc across a part of the world of Faerun (the D&D world). The Greek Gods have barely made a presence in the D&D world, yet, Ares and Athena are here, seemingly angry with one another over jurisdiction of lands, cities, and, a weakness for all Gods, power. The characters of the students will need to head to this dangerous area of contention as one of the only powerful groups in existence in Faerun to help put an end to the conflict. This can be accomplished in numerous ways from conversation, negotiations, entering the conflict themselves, and even maybe bringing in some of the local gods as well to help put an end to it all. However they choose to resolve the conflict, there will be plenty of opportunities to pause and ask each other questions about what the right move might be, what the best options are, and working together to figure this out. I will also jump in to help facilitate some of these conversations as well since this class is not only about playing games and having fun (although both are very important!), it is also to encourage the students to communicate effectively, think about all perspectives, and work together as a team. Please see the rough schedule for the class down below. Note: these are subject to change as the nature of the D&D game is dependent on what the students choose to do, this is merely a suggestion of how the game will be ran.

Orientación para padres
There will be instances of fictional violence- this is because I am teaching the Dungeons and Dragons game in which some conflicts require battle. Nothing is real and characters in this story are completely fictional and not real, so no real harm will be had in these classes.

Hello! My name is Violet Wallace and I teach a variety of subjects and topics from debate and persuasion to character building, and even Dungeons and Dragons! When it comes to my teaching career, I have taught full time for 3 years now; one year in Canada in Adult Education teaching English Language Arts and Computer Studies and two years in the UK covering subjects from English Language Arts, Religious Studies, Photography, French, Spanish, and a bit of Biology! I believe that teachers need to be passionate about what they teach, caring and understanding to their students, and to be the best mentors/support systems they can be for their students. Progress is important and if we are having fun while being challenged along the way, a lot of growth will happen naturally in the classroom. I also have a pet cat named Wasabi who may make the occasional appearance in class!
