In search of fame, glory, honor, or are you just looking for loot and a good time? Waterdeep Dungeon of the Mad Mage has a little bit of everything. In this class, students will explore the mega-dungeon of the Undermountain and encounter numerous trials, traps, and monsters. Students can expect to learn lore of the Dungeons & Dragons universe, use team work to overcome obstacles, and use creativity to help build the epic tale of their adventures to the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. The first meeting students will get to meet the Dungeon Master, learn the rules and expectations for meeting times, introduce themselves to the group, and tell about their level 5 character they have prepared for this adventure. Afterward, students can expect to jump right into the story and start role playing and working together to make important decisions. The following meeting times, students will get to explore, battle foe, find treasure, overcome traps, and make it as far as they can in the Dungeon with their party. Students will be expected to respect one another, work together, and encourage creative thinking as a team. This class will use open discussion methods so that all student will have a voice and can be heard. The dungeon master will use Roll20 for simulated maps and will help progress the story, but it will be up to the students to make the decisions. Students will learn how to properly resolve conflict and collaborate with their peers. Some knowledge of D&D is preferred but not required. Students will need to have a 5th level character made before the first meeting (Please do not use Unearthed Arcana). Students can send the character sheet to the dungeon master before the first class to make sure everything is properly filled out. If students have a Roll20 account it will help with game play but is not required. This class is a large commitment, but a great deal. It is designed for students to get to play a big campaign with a consistent group to build relationships within their party. This will provide an opportunity for students to create a life long memory and meet individuals with like interest to harvest community through a unique experience.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am a hobbiest, love learning and teaching new things, and I am excited to offer an opportunity for students to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons, and other Role Playing Games. I first got into D&D when I was in 7th grade, since then I have played in multiple campaigns, have been a Dungeon Master, and started a D&D podcast. I have taught at Mount Hermon Outdoor Science School (CA), as well as been a summer camp counselor over 10 years. I have traveled to various camps including a camp in China where I taught outdoor science. My hope is that I can teach students how to play D&D and help them use creativity to boost confidence.
