You don't even need to know much about the topic! The documents will teach you what you need to know. You just need to know what to do with them. Students will be instructed on how to analyze documents using an acronym that will guide them through all future document analyses. They will then be instructed on how to pull the information together to write an essay that scores high on the rubric. The class will be a video lesson in each session that provided independent practice with constructive feedback, as follows: Session 1 - Go over what the DBQ is, the rubric, and a sample essay. Session 2- How to analyze documents: demonstration and practice. Session 3- Contextualization, Evidence Beyond the Documents Analysis Deeper Dive Session 4 - Reading and Learning from Exemplars, How to Do a DBQ on your own with Feedback Submitted DBQ Essays will be graded and constructive feedback will be provided. The essay topics will be based on prompts that have been released by The College Board.
