Students will learn to write upper and lower case letters in cursive and master their penmanship skills. They will also have an opportunity to practice reading cursive writing from letters in history and from famous authors such as Lincoln, Queen Elizabeth, John Lennon. In each lesson, students will learn to properly form two to three letters in cursive. Students will practice spacing, size, and slant while writing these letters. Part of each class will include connecting letters to properly form letter combinations. We will also work on writing words, then sentences. Students will be sent worksheets before each class to practice tracing letters together during the lesson. Students will be able to see proper formation of each letter, then practice on their own. They will have an opportunity to practice independently, but this class includes some games and creative word building. At the end of class, students will practice writing their own "thank you" note.

Licenciatura en Inglés desde UCLA
Hello students and parents. Welcome to my classroom. I’m Ms. Lisa. I have been in education for over twenty years and have had the privilege of teaching children both domestically and internationally. I started teaching high school English after receiving my degree from UCLA, but I’ve also enjoyed home schooling my own children (all in college now) and teaching elementary students.
I like to make learning fun for all of my students, from 3-years old to 17- years old. In all of my years of teaching, it has been a joy to teach many children how to read, write, and do math! I enjoy working with children and developing an appreciation for learning new things in a new way. There’s great joy when I see my students succeed! The moment a child sounds out a word for the first time or reads a sentence on their own, or independently writes a 5-paragraph essay, brings great joy to both teacher and student! My goal is to make learning concepts a FUNdamental and rewarding experience.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching movies and playing board games with my family, reading, painting, and taking my dog Cody on long walks.
It is an honor to teach kids from all cultures, and I’m excited to teach your child. Thank you for considering me as your child's teacher. I hope to see them in my classroom in the near future.
Here's what some of my parents have to say.
"I'm very glad to meet Miss Lisa. This class is very interesting. Thank you for your patience and correcting my child's pronunciation in time. Look forward to seeing you again." 7/3/2020
"The teacher does a good job." 6/16/2020
