Dungeons and Dragons is is collaborative storytelling game. It is a game of vast possibilities where you learn to think carefully, to plan, to strategize, to persuade, to resolve conflict, and so much more, all while exploring memorable locales, meeting fascinating NPCs, and defeating truly frightening enemies. In this course we will play through what is widely considered the greatest, modern D&D adventure, "Curse of Strahd".. In this module you will explore the wild land of Barovia, unraveling the story of Strahd von Zarovich's control and striving to release his hold on all of Barovia. This course will give students a great deal of experience in the details, rules, and mechanics of Dungeons and Dragons. Students will also grow close with the other students they are adventuring with and learn to better communicate, work together, and treat one another with respect while collaborating to solve puzzles, fight enemies, and tell a great story. After completing this course, students will be confident in the rules of D&D and can continue on to another adventure or begin running one of their own for friends. Please note that this is an ongoing course as it is impossible to give a specific number of meetings because that depends how the story develops in the hands of the students. Compared to other campaigns, though, this is considered a long campaign (meaning likely 6+ months). If you must leave at some point, please don't worry about your fellow classmates. We will exit your character and bring in another student in a way that progresses the story. — Curse of Strahd official description: Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner—and you are invited. — Note: You must have your video on for these sessions. D&D is a game of community and collaboration, of experiencing, struggling, and laughing together. If you cannot actively participate, please do not enroll. Reach out to me if you have questions about this.

Orientación para padres
Though there is combat in this game, it is described in words, not using visual images. I will also ask and require students to be conscious of their descriptions, avoiding anything grotesque or inhumane. Also,"Curse of Strahd" features strong gothic horror themes, meaning vampires, werewolves, witches, and more.
Lista de útiles escolares
Students will need a free dndbeyond.com account and completed character which I will check before the first session (students who completed 103 with me have one but may create another using dndbeyond.com). Please do not hesitate to message me with questions about character concepts or rules. Optional: a copy of the Player's Handbook (https://www.amazon.com/Players-Handbook-Dungeons-Dragons-Wizards/dp/0786965606/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=player%27s+handbook&qid=1609709577&sr=8-3).
