What will be taught? This course will focus on teaching students how to: Analyse and evaluate information critically. Identify logical fallacies, biases, and unreliable sources. Apply structured thinking methods to real-world situations. Improve decision-making through evidence-based reasoning. Understand different perspectives and use empathy in critical analysis. Topics Covered: Logical Thinking: How to build sound arguments and spot weak ones. Bias Recognition: Identifying personal and external biases in media, research, and everyday life. Evaluating Sources: Distinguishing between reliable and unreliable sources of information. Problem-Solving Strategies: Applying logic to solve complex problems in academic and real-world scenarios. Debate and Discussion: Engaging in respectful debates and learning how to defend or reconsider a position based on new information. How is the class structured? Each session will focus on a specific critical thinking skill, starting with a brief lecture followed by interactive exercises such as debates, group discussions, and problem-solving tasks. Real-world case studies and examples will be used to illustrate the concepts, ensuring students can apply what they learn in everyday life. How will I teach? My teaching style is interactive and discussion-based. Students will engage in hands-on activities like analyzing articles, evaluating arguments, and practicing critical thinking through debates. I will guide the class through thought experiments, group analysis, and reflective exercises to make learning engaging and practical. Interaction Level: Students will have the opportunity to discuss real-world topics, participate in group debates, and work on individual exercises. There will be plenty of time for questions, feedback, and personal reflections on how critical thinking can be applied to daily life.
