In this course, students will learn how to develop ideas through writing. They will be given plot and character to begin with and will then develop a story with beginning, middle, and end. Class Structure: Class will be student driven and teacher guided. The teacher will use the start of each week to discuss the elements in a story. After the prompt is provided, students will write a short story and post it to our online classroom. Teaching Style: The topic will be presented to the class each week and the teacher will provide guidance as they engage in online feedback and discussion. Student Interaction: Students will interact with one another by asking questions and sharing ideas for their writing process. Students will share their writing by posting in our classroom each week. There will be a discussion about the writing topic that week that students will engage in. *Basic writing skills required.
