Have you heard of the three lined poems called haikus? This is the famous poem structure that is five syllables, seven syllables and then five syllables. This poem is often requested by students and here is a class where they can have fun learning about haikus and their form. Students will also practice language and reading skills by doing exercises about syllables. Mentor texts include: Mellow May by Patricia L.
