Escritura creativa: poesía

In this interactive 3 week class students will learn how to write poetry. Beginners and intermediate students are welcome. In this course students will be taught to use 3 different writing exercises to put together poems. Throughout the 3 weeks students will be introduced to different styles of poetry. We will do creative writing exercises to help students create their own poems.
 
The 3 classes will have this structure:
Introduction/Icebreaker 
Slideshow that will include poetry and examples 
Introduction and guidance for creative writing activity 
Creative writing activity 
Open discussion and sharing of work. 
 
Creative writing activity 
1st Week: Heart Map 
2nd Week: Ordinary to Poeticc language 
3rd Week: Creative illustrations 

My teaching style is interactive and structured. I am a very energetic teacher who provides a warm and safe classroom enviroment. In my classroom, there will be a mix of slides and discussion. Students will have an opportuinty to share with each other and engage in conversation as much as they feel comfortable. 

Each class will feature a creative writing activity that will help them focus on poetry. These exercises will be able to continue to be utilized after class. While this course is geared towards poetry students these exercises are transferable to any type of writing. My hope is to empower students in their creative writing.
