Welcome to Creative Writing Camp!  Where each day students will dive into a lesson steeped in creative writing. Each session students will engage in a mini lesson on the creative writing task of the day – for example, one day will be dedicated to poetry, so students will receive a mini lesson on poems. Then students will be provided with a creative writing prompt or task to work on. After they have had time to create, they will co-edit with me and each other. 

As students work, I will check their progress and provide feedback. Students will then share their work – if they are comfortable doing so – with the class. Students will also receive personalised written feedback to help guide parents with future classes and tutorials. Some examples of things I will check for are spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax and writerly voice. Because the reading and writing process is recursive, students will also read in this camp, as examples of model writing help students to become better writers themselves. Students are also invited to complete writing tasks outside of class if they wish to which will allow us to further workshop their piece
