She is very understanding and patient, if you're struggling or stuck she's there to help you work through it. The topics she has you write about she helps you connect with your own perspective, and makes class personal.” -Stefany S. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *This class will not be canceled if only one student is enrolled for class. *This class is open to anyone who has a website already and would like help posting to their website more consistently. *Many students take this class for English credit, STEM or technology credit, general Elective credit, and/or Writing credit, and may request a grade at the end of the semester for school credit. *To become a master blogger and to improve writing and technology skills, it is best to begin with the blogging 101 class, then spend the year blogging in the follow-up classes: 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106; followed up with this Become a Consistent Blogger on-going course. Classes are scheduled out for the year to help parents plan. These classes may also help with yearly school credits for English, STEM, Technology, History, Elective, Writing, and/or Social Studies. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In this on-going course, your 14-18 year old becomes a consistent blogger by writing weekly blogs and posting them to their own website. Website building is not taught in this class. Learning to blog and how to build a website is taught in my blogging 101 classes. In this class, students improve their writing skills by writing one blog a week and posting it to their already existing website. Teacher feedback for writing and grammar as well as web page formatting is provided for each blog. Many students have also taken this class to share short stories they've written on their websites. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What is the structure of this class? In the beginning of every class, I give students a fun topic to write about. After that, students are given the class time to write their blog. Every week, students find new and exciting topics to write about. Throughout classes, I work with students on their writing skills and provide feedback on the format of their blogs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Examples of student blogs written in this class: https://adventuresmadebymee.wordpress.com/ https://speakupandchangetheworld.wordpress.com/ Examples of student short stories written in this class: fictionalis.wordpress.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What’s your teaching style and how will you teach? I like to have fun in my classes. I am thorough in execution but joyful in presentation. I do expect students to follow instruction and do the assignments, and I welcome every question a student may ask. I will use slides to help present my lessons and hands-on work to engage student learning. I love having students bring in their own learning styles and ways of participation. Since this is a small class, I do expect to interact with all students. I want to learn about my students and what they are experienced in. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
