Creative Make & Take Arts & Crafts in Motion Club allows students to experiment and explore different art mediums while having fun creating their projects. The class will be focused on a hands-on student-centered environment. Each week the teacher will guide the students with step-by-step instructions to complete their project. Many of these projects I used with my former students in the regular classroom in public schools. No previous art experience is required to join this class. Students should be able to hold a pencil to trace an object, handle different coloring tools, manipulate a paintbrush, and operate scissors with or without caregiver assistance. Younger children or special needs students may necessitate help from an adult. Please let me know of any concerns or needs with your learner before class begins. This is an ongoing subscription. Videos will be provided in the Outschool classroom for students who aren't able to attend in person. Hello Parents and Caregivers!
I am very excited to be with Outschool and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am honored that you took the time to read this information and are considering entrusting your learner in my classes. I taught in public schools for 27 years and for the last 3 years I have been teaching students ESL online all over the world. I am a certified and licensed teacher with a BS in Elementary Education and a concentration in early childhood. I taught all subjects in elementary classes K-6 but for more years in kindergarten-2nd grades. After I received my Master's Degree in Library Science and Information Skills, for the last 18 years in public education, I taught all grade levels from Preschool- 5th-grade. The students were taught reading and information skills, Internet Safety, and all about books. I checked out hundreds of books weekly while I was the media specialist-librarian.
I am certified and hold a TESOL Certificate from an International known school. I started working with English as Second Language (ESL) students when the university I attended allowed me to travel over a thousand miles to McAllen, Texas to do three weeks of student teaching in a bilingual school setting. I was able to teach many afterschool and summer programs with ESL students in the public school setting.
I am a patient and kind teacher and I love to praise and congratulate the students on all their successes in class. I endeavor to establish an atmosphere in my classroom that provides all students the following: they feel loved, and safe, and are with a teacher who sincerely cares about their education and learning. I have high expectations for all students. I do not put a lid on their learning and I try to take them as far as I can in my classes. I have witnessed many of my 3 and 4-year-olds after they complete my Preschool-Kindergarten Prep class, excel in their reading.
I love to teach children and share my passion for learning with these precious students. In my classes, the students will be involved in fun and engaging activities I have created and prepared. Whatever age group of children I am teaching, I try to instill in students a love for learning by creating an environment that is exciting and fun!
I have created the following classes with your children in mind! For a beginner reader who knows most letters and sounds, I recommend taking my ongoing courses in the following order starting with the first class below the Preschool and Kindergarten Preparation Class, unless this is the class you are looking for: (Feel free to copy and paste the class information below or you can go directly to the class links). I hope to see your child in one of my classes!
