If the student chooses they can come to class with a picture of a dragon they have drawn.

In this class we will talk about dragons!
Each child will be encouraged to use their own creativity to make up their dragon.  Students will think about the physical and personality character traits of their dragon.
The teacher will provide a Google slide deck template where students will fill in their own answers.
For each slide we will discuss what to put on the slide, how to be specific, and how to communicate clearly.
This class will be a mix of me teaching students about communication and character traits and discussion with students.
Additionally, I will help students unfamiliar with Google slides to do their slide show.
At the end of class students will take turns presenting their dragon to the group.

As an added bonus students are encouraged to draw a picture of a dragon they would create prior to the class. Students should take a picture of their drawing and have the picture uploaded to their device.  If they have done this they can include their actual drawing in the slide show!

Hi there!  I am so excited to be here and offering both technology courses and ELA themed courses.  I have many great options coming to you as I build more classes.  

I have been a teacher for 15 years and have taught from Kindergarten- 8th grade in public schools. In these experiences, I have taught all subjects but am the most energized and passionate about teaching ELA (reading, phonics, vocabulary, etc.). Additionally, I am a Microsoft Innovated Educator Trainer and have a lot of training and teaching experience with Microsoft. I have a master's degree in Learning and Technology.

My belief is that students who feel good learn best.  Students who feel valued by their teacher and feel like they are an integral part of the class want to participate and engage in the materials.  Building relationships is key to success.

Dogs make me so happy!  We currently have four.  They are always by my side and eager for all the love they can get.  I have two amazing teenagers and a hard-working husband.  I look forward to developing a relationship with you and your child!
