Welcome to my exciting online oil pastel art class, designed for students aged 9 and up who want to improve their artistic abilities while having fun! With personalized attention and a variety of engaging projects, this class is perfect for kids looking to enhance their art skills. Each week, we will explore famous works of art, such as Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Claude Monet's "Water Lilies." We will discuss their colors, textures, and techniques, allowing students to dive deep into the world of art.

In my role as an Outschool Star Educator with over 10 years of experience teaching art in public schools and as a homeschool mom, I create a fun and supportive environment that welcomes all skill levels. Whether your child is a budding artist or has some experience, I help kids build their artistic voice while connecting with peers. Parents praise my patience, clear instructions, and ability to engage students, making this class an excellent way to develop essential skills such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and critical thinking.

What to Expect:

Tailored Learning: My small class sizes allow me to meet students where they are, ensuring that everyone leaves the class feeling confident and smiling.

Directed Approach: Each session will focus on a different work of art. Students will learn to see basic shapes, practice texture and shading for dimension, and explore blending and color mixing techniques.

Creative Choices: Students will have the opportunity to make individual decisions about their artwork throughout each class. Creativity is celebrated, and I encourage interaction and fun during the creative process.

Engagement and Feedback:
At the end of each class, we will have an optional sharing time where positive discussions and critiques are encouraged. This valuable feedback helps students understand their work better, relate to peers, and find inspiration.
Class Details:

We will use two cameras during class: one focusing on my work area for detailed instructions and the other allowing students to showcase their creative choices.

Flexible Enrollment: Choose how many classes to attend! There’s no long-term commitment—stay enrolled for 10 months, join for a single session, or pop in and out based on your schedule. If a listed time doesn’t work for you, please reach out—I’m happy to accommodate your schedule!

Important Information:
⚠️ Camera Requirement: Per Outschool guidelines, students must have their camera on for visual confirmation before class begins. After confirmation, students can choose how to use their camera.  
⚠️ Separate Enrollment: Each sibling or co-learner must enroll separately.
