Week 1Lesson 1Exploring Journals and CanvaDive into the fascinating world of journals! In this session, students will explore different types of journals and their purposes. They will get inspired by various examples and decide on the perfect journal type and size. Plus, students will get an exciting introduction to Canva, the design platform we'll use to create your journal masterpiece.Lesson 2Re-creating a JournalGet ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into journal creation! Students will review Canva's powerful tools and follow along as we re-create a beautiful, pre-picked journal. This hands-on session will guide students step-by-step, making sure they feel confident and excited about their design skills.Lesson 3Designing Your JournalIt's time for students to let their creativity shine! In this session, they’ll start designing their unique journal. With individual guidance and feedback, they’ll bring their ideas to life. We'll also discuss options for printing their journals and celebrate everyone's amazing creations by sharing and providing feedback.

Following Lesson 1, students will sketch three journal layouts and choose their favorite. After Lesson 2, students will create a graphic project of their choice to refine their skills. They will then brainstorm three journal prompts for personalization, designing their journals with guided feedback in the final session, aiming to share and celebrate their creations with the class.Certificado de finalización

To participate in this course, students will need a few essential supplies to ensure they get the most out of each session. First and foremost, they will need access to Canva and an active Canva account set up prior to the first meeting. A workbook will be provided in PDF format, so students should ensure they can download and access this PDF on their computer before the class begins. While printing the workbook is optional, having a physical copy might be helpful for those who prefer a tangible reference. Additionally, students should have a computer or tablet with internet access to fully engage with the Canva platform and participate in the interactive sessions. With these supplies ready, students will be all set to have a fun and creative journey into journal design!

For the best virtual class experience, students must have access to Canva and create an account before the first session. It’s best if students use Canva on a 2nd device. Additionally, they will be provided with a workbook in PDF format, which they must be able to download to their computer. While printing the workbook is optional, it may be helpful for those who prefer a physical copy to refer to during the class. There will need to be a minimum of 2 students for this course to run. If 2 students are not enrolled, I can transfer to another section.
