1 hora por semana. I will be giving out enrichment and practice problems learners can do independently each week to ensure I know the student is learning. If a learner is taking this class for a grade or credit, they will need to do the enrichments for assessment.
Letra de calificación
I will be uploading two online assessments for learners to complete as well as options for weekly enrichments to complete outside of class that I will grade and provide feedback on. These enrichment activities are optional. If you would like a formal grade or assessment at the conclusion of the course if the enrichments are completed, please let me know, and I will be happy to do that for you!

Has your teen ever wondered about the practicality of math in their future? Consumer Math: Practical Math Needed For Life! Semester 2 is here to show them the real-world applications of math they will encounter in their adult lives. This course is designed to make math relatable, engaging, and directly applicable to everyday scenarios. From understanding insurance to planning a budget-friendly trip, I am here to guide your teen through these essential life skills!

Course Format:
Consumer Math Semester 2 is offered once a week over 12 weeks, with a twice-a-week option for a 6-week duration, as well as a flexible learning format. If you have any questions about these options, feel free to reach out for more information!

Empowering Teens:
🌍 Real-World Applications: This course brings math to life with practical scenarios, helping teens see the value in learning these vital skills.
🔢 Essential Skills: Teens will enhance their basic math skills, including practical applications in real-world situations.
📚 Literacy and Critical Thinking: We go beyond numbers to develop reading and analytical skills through engaging math problems.

Course Breakdown:
*Each week includes an enrichment activity related to the lesson, with personalized 
feedback provided. A formal grade report is available upon request at the end of the course.

Week 2-3: Insurance (costs, how it works, etc.)
Week 4: Buying a Car Project
Week 5: Navigating food shopping on a budget
Week 6: Investment basics and growth tracking
Week 7: Mastering installment buying
Week 8: Budgeting for a trip
Weeks 9-10: Filing taxes simplified
Week 11: Comprehensive review and assessment
Week 12: The Game of Life Project – testing financial skills and budgeting for the real world
