1 hora por semana. Students will be given worksheets to print out after the class to reinforce their learning. Because this class meets once, this is optional and they have the choice to send their homework to me to look over. They will get a vocabulary list that goes over everything they have studied.Evaluación
I do not routinely give an assessment at the end of the class. However, if a student or parent would like an assessment, they may request one by emailing me.Experiencia de clase
With a little bit of experimenting, I have combined two learning methods into one, both to help the learner succeed and master the Japanese language and understand the Japanese culture. This class is designed to help the student become fluent in Japanese and to understand the culture behind not only the language but also the people. I will first put the student into a situation and then give them sentences to respond to those situations. The sentences will then be broken down into vocabulary and grammar. Each lesson will focus on one or two grammar points with more situations as examples. In this lesson, they will also learn the next five letters of the Japanese alphabet. In this lesson, students will be able to: Week 1: 1. Know when and when not to use the word (you) -Most times it is very rude, except in a few occasions 2. How to use am/is/are in more detail 3. How to ask questions using ka 4. Learn about the negative (I am not Korean.) 5. Learn how to describe things near you, near someone else and far away. 6. Learn about ぱ、ぴ、ぷ、ぺ、ぽ. Week 2: 1. Be able to ask what things are by using what (what is this) 2. Be able to describe how something is the same (I am American. He is American as well) 3. Be able to count 1-10 4. Learn the Hiragana ま,み,む,め,も Week 3: 1. Learn how to count 1-100 2. Learn how to say this near me, this near you, that far away. (This watch, that watch, that watch way over there) 3. Learn how to ask how much something is (how much is this watch) 4. Learn the next three hiragana letters (や、ゆ、よ) Week 4: 1. Learn why not to say "you" in Japanese. -Learn that it is impolite. 2. Learn how to count 1-10. 3. Learn how to connect nouns together. -My friend, the company's phone number etc. 4. Learn the Hiragana Characters や、ゆ、よ Week 5: 1. Learn how to ask how much something is 2. Learn how to count 1-100 3. Learn about the Japanese hyaku en shop -What you can buy there. -How they compare to other shops 4. Learn about the hiragana letters ら、り、る、れ、ろ You will get all three in one-course culture, language and the writing, probably something other classes do not delve into. There is a pre-requisite. You will need to know parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this class. You will enjoy the powerpoint slides and optional homework. We will study in an upbeat intereactive way, something you do not want to miss.
