Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. 1 - 4
Nivel Beginner
In this class, learners will explore the connection between emotions and creative expression using colors, shapes, and lines. We will cover the six basic emotions—sad, mad, joy, scared, peaceful, and powerful—by discussing how each emotion feels and how we can represent those feelings through art. Learners will also be introduced to the feelings wheel, a helpful tool for expanding emotional vocabulary, and will explore where they feel emotions in their bodies.

The class is structured with a balance of discussion and hands-on activities. We’ll begin with an interactive introduction to the six emotions, followed by guided drawing and coloring exercises where learners can represent their feelings using colors, shapes, and lines. I will guide students through these activities step-by-step, providing gentle prompts and encouraging self-expression. We’ll also practice identifying emotions in the body through short, simple body awareness exercises. Please note that this class does not include group therapy or therapeutic discussions; learners will not be asked to share personal experiences, and the course does not aim to provide therapeutic outcomes. Instead, the focus is on creative expression and learning about emotions in an educational, supportive setting.

My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, ensuring that each child has the space to participate in a way that feels comfortable for them. I will use slides and visual aids to help explain concepts, but the focus will be on active participation through creative work. While learners are encouraged to engage with the class through art and discussion, sharing personal thoughts and experiences is not a requirement or expectation. The class fosters a supportive and engaging environment, but any personal sharing is entirely optional and will be redirected to focus on the educational content.

This class is designed to be inclusive and supportive of all learning styles. Whether your child loves to talk or prefers to quietly express themselves through art, they will feel welcome in this class. By the end, learners will have a deeper understanding of their emotions and the ability to express them in new, creative ways. It is important to note that this class does not provide therapeutic services or outcomes, and its primary focus is on artistic learning and self-expression in a non-therapeutic context.

Fuentes
This class draws on several well-established resources for emotional education, including the Feelings Wheel developed by Dr. John Gottman, which helps children identify and articulate their emotions. I also incorporate emotional regulation techniques commonly used in child psychology, along with materials from child development research and creative art therapy practices to support children's understanding and expression of emotions in a developmentally appropriate way. No specific books or articles are required for this class; all teaching materials, including handouts, are provided directly within the course.
