Or, have you ever annotated your book only to find the whole page highlighted? Learn how to annotate effectively to help with your analysis.Week 4Lesson 4The Victorian PeriodLearn about the Victorian period and how an understanding of history can help us understand classic books in their contexts.Week 5Lesson 5CharacterizationUse evidence from the text to describe characters and identify their important roles in the story.Week 6Lesson 6ConflictUse evidence from the text to understand the conflict presented and what the author is saying about it. I have a PhD in English literature, a Master's Degree in English literature, and a Bachelor's degree in English literature. Additionally, I have taught a course on the literature of Charles Dickens and a course on Early Victorian Literature at the University of California, Riverside. Additionally, I was a teaching assistant for a class on the literature of the Brontës.
