This includes questions about their academic background, standard test scores (SAT, ACT, etc.), GPA, extracurricular activities, and leadership roles. 2) Essay Draft (optional): Students can submit a draft of their college application essay before the session for a thorough review, allowing for in-depth feedback and refinement during the consultation. 3) Student Background Information: A comprehensive questionnaire covering standard exams, GPA, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other relevant experiences. 4) School Expectations: A section where students outline their expectations for the schools they are applying to, including location preferences, school size, programs of interest, and campus culture. 5) List of Target Schools: Students will be asked to provide a list of colleges or schools they are interested in.Informe de progreso
1) Mid-Session Progress Report: After the initial consultation and halfway through the preparation process, I will provide a comprehensive progress report. This will include an evaluation of the student’s strengths and areas needing improvement, a review of any completed assignments (e.g., essays, resumes), and an updated action plan. It will highlight what has been achieved so far and outline the next steps to ensure steady progress toward their admission goals. 2) Final Progress Report: At the conclusion of our sessions, I will deliver a final report summarizing the student’s overall development. This will include a detailed assessment of their readiness for applications, feedback on completed tasks (such as essays and interview practice), and final recommendations for their application submissions. Class Experience This class is a highly personalized, in-depth consulting session that focuses on the individual needs and goals of each student. Here’s what you can expect: What will be taught? 1) A thorough understanding of how to craft a strong, compelling college application. 2) Strategies for writing standout personal essays that reflect the student’s authentic self. 3) Tips on effective interview techniques, from answering common questions to managing nerves. 4) Guidance on selecting the right schools based on the student’s preferences, strengths, and aspirations. 5) Insights into how to leverage extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and awards to enhance the application. 6) A clear roadmap for managing application deadlines and requirements. What topics will you cover? 1) Application Strategy: Developing a holistic approach, including choosing the right schools, creating a timeline, and highlighting key experiences. 2) Essay Writing: Crafting compelling narratives, brainstorming ideas, structuring essays, and polishing drafts. 3) Interview Preparation: Building confidence for interviews, practicing typical questions, and learning how to articulate strengths effectively. 4) Extracurricular and Awards Showcase: Understanding how to present activities, leadership roles, and achievements to add value to the application. 5) Resume Building: Formatting and fine-tuning resumes to highlight relevant experiences and skills. My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and student-centered. I believe in guiding students to discover their strengths and helping them present their unique stories effectively.
