Lesson is aimed for pre-readers who have experience with Scratch Jr. Students will no experience may need adult support. Students will work on the basics of programming, problem solving and critical thinking skills with Scratch Jr. Student will create a holiday greeting card. Teacher will model as students complete the following: - add characters/sprites - create and modify a character/sprite - modify background - code several characters/sprites - use hide and show command - add voice or speech bubble to characters - use repeat blocks Students will need to download the app: Scratch Jr. before class.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.Reseñas
