🏆 Welcome to the Scratch Coders Club! Where your child can code their own AI Chat Bot
=======================================================
According to research, coding can help improve your child's understanding of logic and mathematics. In this virtual hangout, we will code a new game each week. Your child will learn to design games, write code, and debug errors.

📖 After about 8-10 weeks of attending our beginner program, our students:
✅ Use if and sensing blocks to reach a goal.
✅ Use sound blocks and choose sound from the music library.
✅ Learn the importance of writing a code that can be easily understood by others.
✅ Create pictures in Scratch.
✅ Debug a coding sequence that has missing or wrong blocks in the sequence, at the beginner level.

🌟 Learners must have an account on Scratch before joining the first class.
👨‍🚀 Join as many, or as few meetings as you'd like. Parents may pause, cancel, or restart subscription any time.
=========================================

Students may join at any time! Please note that some students may move into the intermediate level faster than others. Each student learns at their own pace. The teacher will determine if a student is ready to move on to a higher level.
Each week, we will program various games to help learners master the following coding concepts:

📆 Week of April 7- Conditionals
📆 Week of April 14 Design a Sprite
📆 Week of April 21 AI Programming
📆  Week of April 28-Events
📆  Week of May 5-Events

Please keep in mind that concepts will overlap during any one particular class and at teacher may repeat a game if they feel that the students have not mastered any particular concept.
==========================================
Coders will be helping each other to create a community of cooperative learning. Students will make friends who have the same coding interest.
😁 This will be fun. Join the club!

=============================================
Important notes about this class:🤩💻🥳
1. All cameras must be on at the start of class, as per Outschool policy.
2. Students may need to use two devices for this class, one can be a phone or tablet. Another device such as a desktop computer or laptop will be used for coding the projects.
3. Students will need to open an account on Scratch prior to the first class.
Please watch our video to help with that process: https://youtu.be/6cLAMz0g9XY
4. This program is best suited for kids 7 years and older. Younger kids will need SIGNIFICANT adult assistance as the coders are required to manage technical issues that may arise during the class.
5. Please download the Scratch app. prior to class at https://scratch.mit.edu/download

🌟If you are an experienced coder, please join our intermediate coders club instead.

🗒️ Note for Parents: We understand that life can get busy! While we can't offer refunds for missed classes, we do provide a recording of each lesson so your child can catch up at their convenience. If you know your child will miss a class in advance, you can pause or stop the subscription. In case of a last-minute situation, simply access the class recording and your child can watch it to make up for the missed lesson. We're here to make learning as flexible as possible! 😊

Metas de aprendizaje

Necesidades de aprendizaje
Please let us know of your learner's unique need and we will be happy to make any necessary accommodations.
Orientación para padres
✅ Learners will need to open at free account the Scratch coding platform before their first class by going to Scratch.mit.edu ✅ We strongly recommend that parents make sure that commenting in projects is turned off by going to each project and clicking the off button for comments found to the bottom right hand side of the project page. 👨‍🚀 Our goal for this class is to teach our students basic coding skills. Although we finish 95% of our classes with a full game, sometimes this is not possible because we want to make sure that rather than rushing students to finish a game, we address their questions. Despite not finishing a game every single time, you can be rest assured that students leave the class having gained very valuable coding skills after each and every class. 😵‍💫 In the event that Scratch is have a grown up download the Scratch app to your computer. You will see the download option when the site is down. If Scratch is experiencing issues, the teacher may choose to code on the Vex website at Vr.vex.com 🗒️ Parents: Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund for missed classes as the spot has been reserved for your child. However, the recording for the class is available for your child to watch. Please keep in mind that you can pause or stop the subscription if you anticipate that your child will be missing class. If it is a last minute situation, you will have access to the class recording and your child may watch it to make up for the missed lesson.
Requisitos previos
