This class will be an introduction to the 3 branches of the United States government. I will introduce the executive, legislative, and judicial branches using a fun tree diagram to take notes on. This is a 55- minute introduction of the topic only not an in- depth study. I will explain the topic in kid friendly terms while the learner is filling out their tree diagrams that I will explain to them how to create. I have taught civics, history and government to middle school students for most of my 25+ years of teaching experience. I have taught world history, civics, U.S. history, and most recently Georgia Studies.

Since the course will consist of drawing, coloring, and taking notes on trees the learner creates it will keep the learner engaged for the entire 55 minutes.

The course I created comes from material provided in the following textbook: Florida Civics Economics and Geography which is from the McGraw-Hill Networks (A social studies learning system) This was the textbook and materials we used in Florida for teaching 7th grade civics.
