With a Master’s in Post-Secondary Instruction, ongoing graduate studies in social work, and published musicology research in a peer-reviewed journal, I bring a comprehensive, student-centered approach to teaching college composition. My master’s thesis, which focused on strategies to support the mental health and well-being of music students, demonstrates my dedication to producing high-quality, impactful research. This experience reflects my ability to deeply engage with complex topics, critically analyze data, and present findings in a clear and compelling manner—skills I strive to instill in my students.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I graded college-level research papers, providing detailed feedback to help students improve their writing and research methodologies. My background in music education, where precision in verbal and written communication is paramount, informs my approach to guiding students through the entire writing process—drafting, revising, and editing—while equipping them with the academic skills needed for success across disciplines.

In order to provide personalized instruction and foster strong student-teacher connections, I maintain small class sizes. This approach allows me to give individualized attention and address the specific needs and challenges of each student, ensuring that everyone can succeed.

My work as a social work student strengthens my commitment to inclusivity and emotional support. I understand how a supportive, personalized environment is critical to students' academic success, particularly in areas where they may feel vulnerable, such as writing.
