🎵 CLASS OVERVIEW: 🎵 In this class, students learn a new song every week on their clarinet. This class meets in an ongoing format in song cycles. Every new song cycle we study a new style of music. Please see the schedule below. The class schedule is constantly updated below with the current music style and song. This class is intended to break the traditional music learning mold. Students learn the clarinet by building community with others and studying songs that are highly engaging to them. 🎵 STUDENT LEVEL: 🎵 This class is appropriate for students who have had two to three years of previous clarinet instruction. They should be able to play in the upper register easily. They should also be able to count eighth and sixteenth notes easily. Please feel free to ask me if you are questioning if this class is appropriate for your child. 🎵 GENERAL CLASS FORMAT: 🎵 1. Every student is encouraged to say hello and quickly share part of their week. 2. I present a short lesson based on the song we are learning that week. 3. We play through the song with the background track. 4. I troubleshoot problem issues with the class. 5. We play through the song again with the background track. 6. If there's any extra time, we play through previous songs in that class cycle. 🎵 CLASS SCHEDULE: 🎵 [JANUARY THEME: Beatles] 1/24 - Eleanor Rigby 1/31 - Yesterday [FEBRUARY THEME: Disney} 2/7 - Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas) 2/14 - Can You Feel the Love Tonight (Lion King) 2/21 - I See the Light (Tangled) 2/28 - How Far I'll Go (Moana) 🎵 GENERAL POLICIES: 🎵 Some familiarity with online classes/Zoom is highly recommended. Students need to be able to focus on the clarinet. To do so, this should not be a learner's first online class. 🎵 CLASS SIZE: 🎵 To run this class, I need a minimum of two learners. This class will not exceed six learners. Please know, I make every effort to meet my class minimums and not cancel classes.
