Experiencia de clase

In this fun, one-time craft and chat class students will be making a pipe cleaner candy can and mini pipe cleaner Christmas wreath. I will walk them through the projects step by step. We will also be having a fun conversation about what we like best about Christmas.

Discussion questions may include:
What do you like best about Christmas?
What is the best gift you ever got?
What is the best gift you ever gave?
What is your favorite Christmas food?

You will need:
2 green pipe cleaners (soft or sparkly)
2 Christmas color pipe cleaners (that look good with the green, they can be the same or different)
One pipe cleaner of any color
red and white pony beads.

This class is inclusive, which means students of abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best experience possible.

Perfil
Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.

For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.

I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
