This class will start with quick introductions. Then we will start learning! This class is an introduction to atoms and the periodic table. It will teach students about the basic components of atoms, what the periodic table is, and will introduce the following groups: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, post transition metals, metalloids, nonmetals, halogens and noble gases. There will be three Kahoot! quiz games during the lesson that will test the kids on the material they will have learned so far. The format will be a mix of lecture and presentation. The class will be interactive and I will be asking the students questions during the lesson. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

Students will learn what atoms are and that they are made from protons, neutrons and electrons.Students will learn about the different groups of the periodic table.
