Why should you not trust an atom? Because they make up everything! This class is designed to provide an introduction to atoms and the world of chemical compounds. Many topics will be covered over this 5 week class that will give the student a basic understanding of atoms and how they form molecules. - Students will have a basic understanding of atoms and how they form the molecules in our world. Students will be able to name simple chemical compounds and read the periodic table.
I have taught chemistry and chemical engineering at the college level, and have been teaching science to home school elementary, middle and high school students for 10 years. I know how to present science in a fun way to boost students interest in the subject. I have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from the United States Military Academy, a Master's degree in chemical engineering from M.I.T., and a Ph.D in nuclear engineering from NC State University.
