Cheerleading is fun! Not only is it fun, but it is very valuable! Cheerleading can help a young child develop a sense of body awareness as well as a wide range of coordination and motor skills. Educational skills like rhyming, memorization, and team work are also big benefits of learning how to cheer. Cheerleading enhances confidence in a positive and meaningful way. This lesson will start with "hellos and introductions." We will begin with some simple stretching. We will then move on to learn four beginning cheer stances. After that, we will begin to learn TWO beginning cheers: Who Rocks The House and Funky Chicken. By the end of this fun class, your child will have developed a blossoming love of cheering!

There will be very basic stretches done at the beginning of class. Stretching before class might also be a good idea.
Students need an open space to do the cheer moves and stretch. If they have a water bottle, they can bring it to class as well!

Hello!
Welcome to my teacher page! My name is Mackenzie and I am a mother to 3 kids who also enjoy Outschool classes. I was born and raised in Arizona, but now live in the cold midwest. (and LOVE it!)
I also LOVE teaching. Teaching is truly my passion. I have experience teaching students ages 2-18. For the last 7+ years I have been teaching online. I have taught students and teachers from all over the world! I also have volunteered with my local YMCA to create youth enrichment classes that involve art, physical education, music, science, and more. I have coached youth basketball, volleyball, and cheer! Music is also something I love to do. I can play the guitar, trumpet, and a little bit of the piano. While I love to teach, I also love learning new things.
I have am a state certified teacher with a valid teaching license. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-8 Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University. I have a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University.
