Do you have a writer at home who loves to write and tell stories or a young writer who struggles to start writing? This class works for both. Do you have a young student who loves to write about characters but struggles with descriptions, or vice versa? This class works for both. In this class, the students will write a short story to share with others to develop story-writing skills and descriptions of characters and locations. To help with creativity and to start the story, they will be given a specific location and character every week. The location and character will be presented in image form, and we will discuss both together for about 15 minutes to get their writing process and imagination going. (See below for a more detailed schedule) This class will encourage young storytellers and writers to expand their writing, strengthen their creativity, and practice sharing with others. The schedule for the class will look like this: 15 minutes to discuss and brainstorm the character and location of the week 25 -30 minutes to write 15-20 minutes to share their stories (read, copy, and paste into the chat box or screen share) The student doesn't need to worry about spelling and grammar mistakes as we will focus on the story. Weekly Schedule (look at the top of the class listing to see the weekly class schedule) Week 1: A ghost who lives in an ice cream shop Week 2: A librarian who works in the children's section at the library Week 3: A squirrel who lives in a large oak by a playground Week 4: A baker who just opened their bakery Week 5: A horse in a meadow filled with flowers Week 6: An elf who lives in a fantasy land Week 7: An astronaut in a spaceship on their way to a faraway planet Week 8: A student who starts a new school

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
In my creative writing classes, I encourage students to draw from their experiences and thoughts to create unique pieces and share my passion for writing. This passion has been recognized with four awards for a short story and three poems, which I hope will inspire your students.
I am an immigrant from Sweden with a master's degree in education from Lund/Malmö University.
I am dedicated to forming connections with my students and customizing my teaching to suit their age. I aim to challenge my students while ensuring they never feel like failures. Patience, humor, and kindness are paramount in my approach.
As a teacher, I foster critical thinking through various activities such as research and discussions. The most rewarding part of my job is igniting my students' joy of learning and nurturing their curiosity about the world.
I believe in incorporating play into my teaching whenever possible, as I believe that everyone, regardless of age, has a playful side.
I have previously taught social and political science, religion, and geography and have nearly 25 years of experience working with children of different ages.
My diverse interests include folklore, photography, nature, books, and history, particularly on overlooked historical figures. I hope to share these interests with your students, sparking their curiosity and broadening their horizons.
I eagerly look forward to having your student in my class and am excited to embark on this learning journey together!
