Grado de EE. UU. 9 - 12
In this course, we will explore the various careers that fall under the category of Forensics! I believe it is important for students to know the education paths, income opportunities, and realities of any career they may be considering! With the knowledge gained in this course, students will be able to begin tailoring their middle and high school courses to their goals. They will know what degree programs they should look into and what is required to be considered for employment. Students will also have the chance to learn about careers that find their expertise in fields other than science and how they can use their talents to help solve the crime! Each student will complete a final project. Students will be asked to choose the career most interesting to them and explain how they plan to prepare for the career and what strengths they have that make their selected career a good choice. Students will be able to write paragraphs, create a Google Slides presentation, or post a video to complete this project and post it to the classroom to share with me and the other learners!

I will post video lessons in the classroom for the students to watch. They will be provided with a worksheet to complete and turn in by the end of the week. This worksheet will help ensure understanding of the material from the video. In addition, the worksheet will be provided with at least one activity to complete each week, such as dusting for fingerprints! Throughout each week, I will post and moderate discussions about the careers. I will encourage the students to think critically about aspects of a job in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. Students will be encouraged to share their short answer responses or activities with the class. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and share in the discussions in a safe and thoughtful environment. Students will be assigned a final project during the last week of class!

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm excited to offer various classes in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Fitness and Exercise Education, and Dog Training from sunny, beautiful KEY WEST!

I worked as an ESL teacher for three years and, I hold a TESOL Certificate! I will be offering a variety of English grammar and composition courses perfect for all students, including ESL students!

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Behavioral Analysis, graduating magna cum laude. Since my graduation in 2006, I have worked to remain up-to-date and informed on the ever-changing field of Criminal Justice. I create and offer homeschool Forensic Science courses in our community because I'm passionate about the field. I am passionate about teaching students about the vastly different ways to be involved in our criminal justice system and helping dispel the many myths created by the very entertaining crime dramas!

I hold an active nationally accredited personal training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I look forward to educating and helping students learn more about exercise science and consider Personal Training as a career path that they may want to follow!

I strive to give your child a classroom environment that fosters learning and discussion. My classes will include hands-on learning or interaction whenever possible because I believe this is the best way to create a passion for learning! I will guide students in meaningful discussions about what they are learning and how the field can be improved. I love helping students ENJOY learning. I strive to make learning typically "boring" subjects like grammar exciting and fun! We all learn best when we are having fun!

I homeschool my own children, currently 16 and 13 years old. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the spark to learn fostered with my own children and the children I have in my classes. In my free time, I love training my 2.5 year old Great Dane puppy and 4-year-old German Shepherd! We have taught the pups tricks like puppy push-ups, spinning, rolling-over, and many more! I love sharing about my dogs in class, and I typically have pictures or videos to share with my students! In the fall, you will find me cheering on my favorite college football team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!
