The aim of this Latin course is to give young learners a taste of the Latin language by learning about the culture that spoke Latin, the Romans, and learning Latin roots. Learners will read Latin comics out-loud, with vocabulary help, to practice their Latin pronunciation and then translate the short sentences. Each chapter focuses on one beginner's Latin grammar point, which will slowly be built upon with each subsequent chapter. Learners will practice memorizing 10-15 new Latin vocabulary...

I love Latin and the Greco-Roman world. I also have many years of experience teaching Latin to a range of ages and skills levels online and in a traditional classroom. I believe that learning should be a fun and engaging journey!

The text for this class is "Minimus: Starting Out in Latin" by Barbara Bell, published by Cambridge University Press. Each learner will need a copy of the book. The book can be purchased on Amazon for about $34. The text is sometimes referred to as the "Minimus Pupil's Book".
This course will require 1-2 hours of outside class time per week.
