Break Dance Fitness (en curso)

50 minutos de ejercicio físico que fortalecen los músculos necesarios para el breakdance. También desarrollamos nuestra resistencia con ejercicios y juegos. NOTA: Los estudiantes deben conocer 5 movimientos de toprock y 5 movimientos de trabajo de pies (6 pasos incluidos)

Tarea
1-2 horas por semana. All "homework" is referred to as "training" to reinforce the goal of building skills rather than the negative connotation that the word "work" has. Daily training is to do their favorite exercises at least once or twice more during the week.

Experiencia de clase

Week by week breakdown 
Week 1 - AB exercises + 6-step chains + headstand improving 
Week 2 - Upper Body + custom footwork chains + low freeze work
Week 3 - Lower Body + chain game practice + stacks
Week 4 - Full Body + chain game + musicality with stacks

Toprock Warm Up (5 minutes)
- Light Toprock exercise to warm up. Should know at least 5 toprock steps to keep up with the exercise (Learning new steps while dancing is much more difficult for new learners).

High Intensity Interval Training (7 minutes) 
- We run through a circuit of exercises that target different muscles (chest, abs, legs, etc.) We´ll be using high intensity interval training so 45 seconds exercising and 15 seconds of rest. 

Stretching (3 minutes) 
- Circuit of stretches to prepare for footwork and any freezes we may cover

Stamina Exercise 1 (7 minutes) 
- We´ll run some combos to help students improve their footwork form and stamina. 

Game 1 (8 minutes)
- We´ll play a footwork game so students can build their confidence showcasing what they´ve been training. 

Freeze Training (7 minutes) 
- An exercise to help us improve our freeze form 

Game 2 (8 minutes)
- We´ll play a game for students to showcase their growing skill with the freeze we train with. 

Wrap Up (5 minutes) 
- We´ll discuss our favorite exercises and suggest how they can exercise until our next class.

Orientación para padres
Spotify playlist has a mix of hip-hop, disco, rock, latin, and funk, but has been screened for appropriate lyrics. Family friendly. Wrist warm-ups/exercises will be required for learning/practicing the bottomrock moves. It is also advisable that students should wear comfortable shoes (sneakers) and clothes for dancing (not oversized). As well, students should have a clear open space for dancing and a distance from the computer that allows me to see them from head to toe in order to ensure they're doing the moves properly. A water bottle is also required for brief breaks.

- KNEE PADS (solid investment at this stage)
- yoga mat
- a comfortable pair of indoor shoes (to protect their feet)
- clothes they can move in (no over-sized clothing, no skirts, no dresses)
- clear space to dance (non-carpet preferred, but not necessary)
- distance from camera to so I can see their heads and feet are correctly doing the moves
- Beanie style hat

I traveled around the world (40+ countries) while teaching and learning from the local dancers. Also, I was mentored by a world renown breakdancer while living in Korea for three years. This mentorship mixed with my experience and personal training has made me particularly knowledgeable and skilled in the topic.
