The students will have homework after the first lesson. Their homework will be proof their bread dough for an hour, or until doubled in size, then they will snap into loaves, and let rise again for 30 minutes. The students will then bake the bread for 20 minutes on 400° F. Students will also prepare for biscuit making by placing a stick (1/2lb) of butter in the freezer.Experiencia de clase
In this super fun baking class, students will learn the delicious art of making homemade bread! On day 1, students will learn techniques to make the perfect loaf of soft, white bread. Then, they will put those techniques to the test, and will follow along with the teacher as we mix, kneed and prepare our bread dough to rise. Because there is an hour long proofing period for homemade bread, the students will not bake the bread during the class, but it will be their homework. The teacher will leave detailed instructions for the students to follow. On day 2, the Students will show off their bread from the day before, and we will discuss how it went. Next, the students will learn the tips and tricks to make delicious southern biscuits, and again, they will put those to the test. I’m so excited to see your little bakers’ master pieces! *Because the students will be baking, parental guidance is advised. **Students will not need any special equipment, such as a stand mixer. We will be mixing and kneading these breads by hand. A loaf pan will be better for the loaf of bread, but not required. ***
