In this class, we will meet and discuss the first four books in The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner. In this class, we will learn about book genres, character traits, story plots, and how to write about what we read through readers' response journals provided by the teacher. This is an interactive class where students will be expected to participate in discussions, play games, write, and participate in other learning activities introduced by the teacher including working on a character profile on their favorite character that they will present at the end of the class during week 9. Students will need to have their own copies of the book that they are reading outside of class time to be ready to participate in the class activities.
