Come tour the world through great books! Join me and other classmates from all over the planet as we read exciting stories about great adventures and the people who experienced them. In this series, we’ll read one book together over the course of 3 weeks, giving you time to read and dive into the story. Included in our book club will be: -Weekly live book discussion -An engaging presentation all about the author -Intriguing background information highlighting locations, characters, and historical context -Appropriate video tie-ins -A beautiful lapbook to create as we read at home and discuss in class -Vocabulary review -Weekly creative projects such as drawing on a theme and exploring Polish food -Optional hands-on activities as time allows in your home 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔 is a tender, thoughtful book that is not only full of adventure, it’s funny, interesting, and will make us think about our relationships with people who are different than us—all the best things about reading rolled into one. Wanda wears the same faded blue dress to school every day, but she also says she has 100 beautiful dresses at home. The other girls at school don't want to believe it so they tease Wanda, even though at least one of the girls feels bad enough to contemplate coming to Wanda's defense. When Wanda doesn't show up for school one day and her classmates learn the truth about the hundred dresses, the other girls learn the meaning of kindness and generosity. Come along for this Eleanor Estes Newbery Honor classic! You can choose to read or listen to an audio version of the book. We’ll split each book into 2 sections and read one section per week. For 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔, our schedule will look like this: Session/Week One: In-class intro (you do not have to read anything before our first session) Session/Week Two: Come to class having read Chapters 1-4 Session/Week Three: Come to class having read Chapters 3-5 Love reading? Enjoy talking about your favorite books with other kids who do, too? Join us!

What happens when a learner is given the time and space to soak in a story and allow it to change their life? “Aha!” moments are my goal, and it’s why I adore leading worthwhile discussions about classic books. What good is it if we require a teen to read a book but our dry and uninteresting rendering makes them never want to pick up another book ever again?
Book classes for kids who want an adventure, middle and high school literature studies, introductory writing, and engaging story times for the youngest of readers are my passion here on Outschool. We can give our kids so much more than our own experiences when we open a book and the world to them!
I have a BA in Music/Opera Studies and am currently writing my dissertation for the MSt Literature and Arts at Oxford University. I am Step Up for Students approved for the state of Florida.
